Winter Weddings

I’ve always thought winter weddings were pretty, but definitely not for me. I have to admit though, clicking through the blogosphere for this post’s pictures may have changed my mind. Even in nice hot July, I am smitten with these gorgeous images, and the pros of winter weddings are too good to ignore. Have a look and see what I mean!

 {Pros}
So romantic and cozy. Low, off-season prices. Easy to use both dramatic and bright or soft and muted colors (as seen above, everything from Christmas-y red to blush pink to icy pastel blue goes). Hot chocolate.

{Cons}
Highest likelihood of bad weather. Restricted to indoor venues. Flowers are hard to find, and will typically be more expensive.

Anyone converted, like I am? I’m not sure I could forgo all the flowers I love in my wedding someday, but a cute hot chocolate bar just might make up for that!

Don’t forget to share your thoughts about weddings in different seasons, and if you missed any of my previous pros and cons posts, click to see spring, summer, and fall. :)

Love,

Lisa

  1. i dont know how the brides are pretending they’re not cold! i couldnt do an outdoor winter wedding or pictures that’s for sure!

  2. Kristen says:

    but in the summer…you can have frrrrrozen hot chocolate!!!

  3. My friend had her wedding around Christmas and saved tons of money on flowers because the church and reception venues were already decorated with wreaths, garland and poinsettias. She just added a few candles and that was it!

  4. I always thought that if I’d only get married in the winter if it was only option I had, but you make it seem beautiful and cozy. Ah, I love it!
