Vintage Country San Antonio Wedding

August 15, 2011

Have I got a treat for your Monday morning! I was so thrilled to receive this submission from Taylor Jackson of Barefeet Photography over the weekend, and I know you are going to love it as much as I do. The San Antonio venue, The Swanderosa, is a beautiful  ceremony and reception location, and I love how Monica and Jason made it their own with lots of DIY details and family heirlooms, including my personal favorite, their brightly-colored handmade quilts. They also just look like such a fun couple–I mean, they had a mechanical bull and jumped into the pool at the end of the night? Sounds like a party to me! Enjoy!

{From the photographer: “Jason and Monica Abernethy asked me to photograph their outdoor July wedding in San Antonio. There was one catch….the whole thing was going to be filmed for a reality show on CMT called Swanderosa, airing this fall. What a stunning location, perfect for their ceremony and reception. This couple was pretty DIY, so a lot of their details were handled by their families. The bride’s sister did the flowers, and her mother was icing the cake (which was amazingly delicious) up until the last minute! My assistant Ann Itschner and I were in love with all the homey decor and beautiful quilts (which were all family heirlooms). While the film crew was chaotic, I am super happy with the images from such a warm and wonderful wedding.”}

Thank you so much, Taylor! Another breathtaking Texas wedding on Something Pretty…I’m a happy blogger. :)

Have a great day, everyone!

Love,

Lisa
