My name is Lisa, and I’m so thrilled to have you here on Something Pretty! I’m a 23-year-old freelance magazine writer and wedding blogger currently living and loving life in Austin, Texas.

Ever since I was a little girl making magazines out of construction paper and filling notebooks with stories, I’ve known that I wanted to be a writer. I am originally from the beautiful state of Virginia, but I grew up living abroad and traveling the world with my wonderful parents, two sisters, and brother, so there was always plenty to write about! As we traveled, my parents were always sure to take us down the “road less traveled,” and well, as you know, that made all the difference. Seeking the special, the unique, and the authentic shaped the way I live my life now as a young adult, and no matter where I am, I am constantly looking for inspiration.

I am a lifelong girly girl, and as I grew up, I fell in love with fashion and interior design. I’ve also always been a romantic at heart with a soft spot for sweet love stories. The perfect place to blend all these things together? Weddings. Being a writer in the wedding industry allows me to swoon over gorgeous gowns, admire stunning florals, appreciate thoughtful details, and even get a little misty-eyed at some real life love stories every single day. I love every second of it, and there is nothing else I would rather be doing!

Something Pretty is the place where I can share all of my favorite finds, from classic and charming weddings, to inspiration boards showing you how I would bring a specific concept to life, to my favorite pictures from around the wedding blog world. I am so grateful to have been featured on Snippet & Ink, The Knot, The Knot Australia, Elizabeth Anne Designs (here and here), Hey Gorgeous, Occasions Magazine, Intimate Weddings, and Pinegate Road.

Whether you’re a bride seeking inspiration or just someone who loves pretty things as much as I do, I hope you’ll enjoy following along!
