Nantucket Love

My Valentine’s Day-induced love of pink has officially been taken over by a crush on all things cherry red. The prettiest red always make me think of New England weddings, which always leave me breathless with their clean lines, sentimental details, and striking venues. The brides all seem so classy and chic, and grooms in navy and red will never go out of style. For this week’s inspiration board, I decided to pull together a bunch of details that would make up my perfect New England wedding (you know, just in case Style Me Pretty ever wants to hire me and I have to move to Massachusetts :P ), with a color palette made up of bold red, crisp white, and pops of perfect sky blue.

I am convinced that a gorgeous white lighthouse is the perfect wedding venue, and mixing classic and DIY details is right up my alley. And how about those red chiavari chairs? I’m officially calling it…colorful chiavaris are going to be huge this year, and I’m excited! :)

Red Wedding Shoes

One of the many details I love about yesterday’s darling wedding (check it out here if you missed it!) is the bride’s red peeptoe wedges. I’ve been a fan of bridal pop-of-color shoes for ages, and I’m thrilled that the look is still going strong! (The fact that I have my heart set on the prettiest pair of turquoise BHLDN heels for my wedding someday may or may not have anything to do with that. ;) ) In light of Amanda’s adorable red shoes, I rounded up some of my favorite red heel options, ranging from spunky Ninas to the Valentino D’Orsay Bow Pumps that I practically drooled over at Neiman Marcus over the weekend.

{Clockwise from top left: Valentino, Joan & David, Nina, Manolo Blahnik, J. Crew, Kate Spade}

There’s something about a red shoe (or red sole, of course!) that is so undeniably flirty and sassy. I am a firm believer that every girl should have a pair of red pumps in her closet–I bought mine as a present to myself when I got my first college acceptance four years ago, and I’ve worn them way more often than I ever expected to!

Which pair is your favorite? Would you rock a pair of red wedding shoes?

Love,

Lisa

P.S. Let me know what you think of this kind of round-up, and if you think it should be a regular type of post! :)

Fun-Filled Lakeside Wedding

Turquoise and red is one of my favorite wedding color combinations. It strikes just the right balance between chic and playful, and set against a clean lakeside backdrop, it is pretty much perfection. I have been smitten with this sweet wedding for ages–Amanda and Ben look like the most fun couple ever, and K. Holly Photography captured all of the amazing moments of their big day beautifully. And trust me, there were amazing moments…like moments that involved wakeboarding. Seriously! :)

Have y’all ever seen anything like that? I think that they are a pretty amazing testimony to what being a fun, relaxed, joyful couple on your wedding day looks like. Beyond that, I love all of the sweet details they used at their reception, from the strawberry jam favors, to the fluffy white poms, to those adorable patterned table runners. Be sure to check out the fantastic video here…everything is even more incredible in motion!

Happy Friday! It’s a very happy Friday indeed for me–after a long week of cramming for tests, John is here for the weekend! We’ll be celebrating a belated Valentine’s Day today with some exploring in Austin and an amazing looking restaurant that I’ve been dying to try. As we celebrate the last of the Valentine’s Day inspiration over here, I hope you all have a love-filled weekend too! :)

{I’m pretty sure this picture will be on every wedding blog round up in the world today…I mean, come on, it’s Jose Villa photographing cupcakes in a field. Also known as wedding blog gold! Jose Villa via Style Me Pretty}

{I am absolutely in love with how editorial this picture is. I rarely find a black and white picture that I like more than its color counterpart, but this one is perfect! Also seriously considering a Dress Envy post featuring this gorgeous gown :) Picture by Michael Segal Photography via Style Me Pretty}

{Yup, this picture is from the same wedding as shown above. I couldn’t choose a favorite, but I bet you all can’t either! Isn’t that vintage-y ferris wheel adorable? If you haven’t checked out this whole wedding yet, I highly recommend it!}

{Glam cowgirl bridesmaids–what a great combination! I’ve never seen cowboy boots styled this way before, and I am quite a fan of it. Picture by Meegan Weaver Photography via Style Me Pretty Texas}

{One last Valentine’s Day picture for good measure! This Valentine’s Day elopement session is so romantic and intimate–just like I would imagine an elopement should be. I love the candlelit ceremony, all of the pretty pink details, and the slight chess theme! Picture by Gladys Jem Photography via Green Wedding Shoes}

I’ve also been so thrilled to have lots of posts up on the Occasions Magazine blog this week! The other three fabulous interns and I post about different event elements every day, and this week I wrote about:

-Alternatives to floral boutonnieres
- How to make lemonade into a fabulous signature drink
-One of my favorite event ideas ever, which makes me proud to live in our nation’s food truck capital :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,

Lisa

Even though Valentine’s Day is over till next year, I’m not quite done surrounding myself in pink and red, and will probably continue to do so till March 1st! Stunningly romantic gowns like this Ralph Lauren number are only contributing to my love of all things rosy.

This gown is more modern and couture than what I usually gravitate towards, but I can’t get over the beautiful silhouette, the ruffly neckline, the romantic flowing skirt, and of course, that flawless blush color. Plus, how gorgeous is this bride? She rocked it.

Let’s keep the prettiness in pink going all month long, shall we?

Love,

Lisa
