Dress Envy

Posted on

Oh my goodness gracious. I think I could write an entire blog about how much I love Amsale wedding gowns. Number one favorite wedding dress designer, hands down! One of the first Amsale gowns I ever came across was Dahlia, and after seeing it on a beautiful Style Me Pretty bride yesterday, I was reminded of how much I love its gorgeous simple bodice and completely unique A-line skirt. Any gown that takes a classic silhouette and turns it into something exquisite is an A+ in my opinion. Let’s take a look :)

Ahhh, I just love it! Doesn’t it photograph so beautifully? I love how the bride let the dress shine by keeping her hair and accessories simple and elegant. Pictures by Robert & Kathleen Photographers via Style Me Pretty.

So Amsale is my clear favorite, but which wedding dress designer never fails to make your heart skip a beat?

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

Posted on

Fun day today! I’m linking up with my best blog friend/favorite interior design blogger, Michaela, for her “She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not” series. You may remember that I was a guest-poster for the series a few months ago (find my post here!), and today, Michaela is turning her popular series into a link-up party! I don’t write too terribly much about myself here on my blog, so I thought this would be a fun way for y’all to get to know me a little more, and for me to get to know you better too! So, here are a few things that I’m currently loving, and not loving.

{She Loves Me}

1. Rain! Sure, it’s a bit of a bummer that I won’t be laying out getting some sun over my spring break this week, but after such an awful drought and the devastating fires in Texas over the last year, the sound of rain is the most beautiful thing! Picture via Matchbook Magazine.

2. This Eiffel Tower print by ISeeNoise on Etsy–it would look so perfect in my room next to the gold confetti canvas I made a few months ago. How fun would a gold gallery wall be?

3. I’ve had this picture saved in the “interior design” folder on my computer for ages…is there anything better than the combination of mint and gold right now? I have my eye on those gold Moroccan poufs in a big way! Picture via Centsational Girl.

4. I love Kate Spade‘s “florals with a twist” March pattern of the month–the tennis theme is so preppy and fun. I wish I played tennis and could justify buying one of the cute jewelry pieces!

{She Loves Me Not}

1. Kale chips. Did I make them wrong or something? I keep hearing how much people love them, but when I tried it, they were so bitter, I threw them away. I used olive oil and salt and baked them at about 400 till they were a little bit brown. Help!

2. Mosquitoes. They’re so bad in my neighborhood, and they’re all starting to come back for the spring. Ugh!

3. Monday’s Bachelor finale. I didn’t even watch this season, but both Ben and Courtney were so irritating. Looking forward to Emily’s season though!

What are you loving and not loving right now? Be sure to check out the link-up party on Michaela Noelle Designs today!

Love,

Lisa

Something Blue

If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen that I made my first Bauble Bar purchase last week! I’ve been admiring all of the beautiful, fashion forward jewelry options that they have for ages now, and am so excited to get my first piece in the mail. The best part? The jewelry is completely affordable, and they have lots of fun ways to get discounts! While browsing the site looking for my first purchase (the Sunglow Dot Bangle, if you were wondering!), I found lots of pretty gems that I think would make adorable options for a bridal “something blue.” Take a look at my favorites!

{1. Blue Rose Studs, 2.Teal Fes Bangles, 3.Seaside Drops, 4. Blue Bonnet Strand, 5.Teal Dot Bangle, 6. Sky Cushion Cut Studs}

Bauble Bar has pieces that would be lovely for any brides, from rustic chic to big city glamorous. If you’re looking for a pretty finishing touch for your big day, or just some budget-friendly new jewels, definitely take a look at Bauble Bar…you automatically get a $10 coupon when you sign up for an account, so here is an invite! :)

Do you have a favorite piece? How about a favorite something blue?

Scenic Vancouver Engagement Session

Posted on

It’s been ages since I featured an engagement session, so I’m happy to be sharing this one today! When Brian Van Tighem of White Leaf Photographs sent this pretty shoot to me, I was floored by how gorgeous the scenery is at Tower Beach in Vancouver, Canada. Even though such a stunning place doesn’t call for many extra details to spruce it up, I must say, my favorite thing about this e-session (besides the bride-to-be’s gorgeous smile!) is her bouquet of sweet yellow tulips. The perfect finishing touch!

So lovely, and definitely a little different from my usual Monday wedding posts–nothing wrong with shaking things up a bit! Speaking of shaking things up, I’m taking some time over my spring break this week to make some changes around here, starting with a test drive of an updated header! I kept the gorgeous handwritten lettering by my sweet friend Paige, of Parachute Paper Company, but am playing around with some new framing for it. I think my blog aesthetic has grown and changed quite a bit in the last year, so I’m working on reflecting that better. I would love to hear what you think of it so let me know…tweaking is still very likely :)

How were your weekends?

Love,

Lisa

Love List

It’s been a crazy last few weeks, but it’s finally time for spring break! I couldn’t be happier to be relaxing at home with my family (and little dog!) this week, and hopefully soaking in some Texas sun. To ring in the real start of spring, I rounded up some inspiration that is equal parts colorful and sweet

{When the designer/founder of the amazing accessories company Untamed Petals gets married, it’s bound to be a girly, sparkly, and perfectly accessorized event! I love her ruffly Monique Lhuillier gown, and this dress shot is perfect. Picture by Ellie Grover Photography via 100 Layer Cake}

{I always love seeing the gorgeous photo shoots that Jessica of Lovebird Style styles, and the Golden Gypsy Wedding Inspiration shoot is definitely one of my favorites so far. I’ve never seen anything like that bouquet! Picture by Brooke Boling Photogtaphy via Green Wedding Shoes}

{The French countryside, a gorgeous Grace Kelly-esque dress, and and the prettiest DIYs? Yes, yes, and yes please! Pictures by One and Only Paris Photography (one of my favorites!) via Ruffled}

{I’m calling it now–cardigans are going to be big in grooms style this year, and I’m excited about it! This adorable couple got married in Cleveland (my boyfriend’s hometown!), and had the cutest gold-and-succulents themed city wedding. Picture by Mandy and Me Studio via Style Me Pretty}

{See, cardigans! :) This is definitely the week for breathtaking Midwestern weddings–this super stylish one was inspired by Anthropologie and took place in Wisconsin. So rustic and pretty! Picture by The McCartneys Photography via Wedding Chicks}

Have a sweet weekend!

Love,

Lisa
