Hey, gorgeous! Along with being a writer and blogger here at Something Pretty, I’m excited and grateful to be a Beautycounter consultant. I’m also a wife, a mama, a daughter, a sister, and a friend, and it’s the people I love who give me those titles who inspired me to become a part of Beautycounter. You can read more about why I joined here!
My current Beautycounter favorites (will update this regularly!)
Balancing Facial Mask: The Balancing Collection was the first group of Beautycounter products I tried, and the mask in particular stood out to me. I love the slightly minty smell, the way the mask hardened without pulling on my skin, and how clean and refreshed my face felt afterwards. If you’re like me and are already cleansing and moisturizing, but are looking for a product to kick your skincare up a notch, this (or the full Balancing Set/Spa Set) might be a perfect fit.
Citrus Mimosa Body Wash: How good can a body wash be? I didn’t anticipate anything too special with this, but I’ve had the hardest time finding a clean body wash that I actually liked, so I was excited to try this. Um, never turning back. It’s smooth and moisturizing, it smells fantastic, and it’s made with ingredients that I’m comfortable using on my whole body.
Nourishing Rosewater Mist: I could not stop spritzing this mist on my face when I tried a sample of it. It’s a splurge, but the bottle is pretty large, so it’ll go a long way! The mist can be used as a toner, to set makeup, and to give your face a boost of refreshment throughout the day.
Tint Skin Foundation: I’m super picky about foundation (who isn’t?) and was pleasantly impressed by this one. It has medium coverage (that is buildable if you need a little extra), is moisturizing and creamy, and comes in eight shades. You can find the right shade for you here–mine is Linen.
Other products I’ve tried and loved
Nourishing Cream Cleanser: This cleanser is described as “lightweight yet deeply moisturizing” and I totally agree with that. If you’re in the market for a high quality cream cleanser, this is a great one.
Nourishing Cream Exfoliator: Lots of exfoliators contain plastic beads that end up polluting the water, but this one is made with natural jojoba beads. I haven’t worked exfoliating into my regular routine yet, but if I do, I’ll definitely pick up this product.
Nourishing Day Cream: This felt so hydrating, and didn’t make me look shiny. One pump covered my whole face, so the bottle will go a long way!
Nourishing Night Cream: Super moisturizing. You can certainly use the Day Cream for both day and night, but the night cream has a few different ingredients that nourish your skin even more.
Nourishing Eye Cream: I’ve never tried another eye cream, so I don’t have anything to compare it too, but I had no complaints about it. This product is on my mom’s list, so I’ll report back once she’s tried it!
Balancing Facial Mist: I used this super-fine mist after doing the Balancing Face Mask, and while it was refreshing, I don’t think I used it to its greatest benefit. Next, I want to try using it to set my makeup–it’s supposed to absorb excess oil, refine skin texture, and help calm redness, which sounds amazing!
Balancing Facial Oil: So indulgent! A few drops after doing the Balancing Face Mask and Facial Mist gave my face all the moisture it needed. It also has an amazing ylang-ylang smell.
Charcoal Cleansing Bar: My face felt squeaky clean, but not dry, after using this cleansing bar. At a lower pricepoint, it’s a great way to give Beautycounter a try!
Bath and body products
Daily Shampoo: This shampoo felt nice and bubbly, as opposed to other safer shampoo options I’ve tried that don’t lather, and my hair looked great after blow drying! My one complaint about this is that my hair looked a little oily on day 3, and as a new mom who reaches for dry shampoo more often than not, that’s not ideal ;) If your hair doesn’t get as oily as mine does though, I suggest giving it a try.
Daily Conditioner: I have long, thick hair that needs a lot of moisture, and this conditioner did a great job. Definitely recommend!
Hydrating Body Lotion: LOVED this lotion–it smells amazing (same scent as the body wash) and wasn’t greasy at all. It would make a lovely gift item as well.
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer: This has light coverage and SPF 20, so it’s a great everyday product if you prefer a sheer, smoothing base to your makeup. I think my sister Dana is going to love this one–she has great skin and sweet freckles that she should never cover up!
Mattifying Powder: I liked using this on my T-zone over the Tint Skin Foundation, but also brushed it on over a bare face once when I wanted to go makeup-less but not look too shiny. Note: you’ll need a powder brush like this one to apply.
Color Pinch Cream Blusher (in Hibiscus): A little bit goes a looong way! A tiny bit applied with my fingertips lasted all day, and I loved the rosy pink shade for summer.
Lip Gloss (in Peony): The Peony shade looks bright in the tube, but I thought it looked so pretty and natural on. I’m usually a lipstick girl, but I’ll be adding this to my purse for a quick and easy pop of color!
