There are few things more exciting than an invitation to a black tie event. There aren’t many reasons in life to wear floor-length gowns and dance the night away, after all! I think there’s a bit of an expectation that black tie has to mean ballrooms and crystal chandeliers and what not, but just like any other wedding, they can absolutely be styled in ways that reflect the bride and groom perfectly. For today’s inspiration board, I used a loose color palette of pale blue, leaf green, and slate gray to come up with a black tie wedding concept that’s a little more romantic and soft than what people may usually expect. I would love to score an invite to this one!

Do you get butterflies over black tie events, or do you prefer a more relaxed setting for a wedding? I’d love to hear!

{As I raved in the comment section, this wedding posted my by dear friend Lena had practically every detail I would want at my hypothetical black tie wedding. Vera Wang dress, peach flowers, polka dot bowties, gold chiavaris, stunning calligraphy? Check and check! By
{Much like the first picture in today’s love list, this shot put an instant smile on my face! I love thinking about the joy that must have been felt in this moment. By
{One of my biggest wedding pet peeves is a gorgeously styled table…only to be downgraded by an unsightly dinner roll at each place setting. I love that a handful of photographers and stylists got to work creating much more appealing bread place settings for Once Wed! By
