1. Dress Envy

    March 22, 2012

I’ve never really thought of myself as a lace wedding gown kind of girl, but that was before I saw this bride in a lace Watters gown with a stunning keyhole back…

I love how the bride accessorized with a delicate hairpiece and a statement necklace–perfect finishing touches for a look that is both rustic and modern. Be sure to check out the rest of this incredibly beautiful country wedding, photographed by Studio Castillero, on Green Wedding Shoes. One of my favorite event planning companies, Sitting in a Tree Events, was behind all the gorgeousness!

Are you a lace girl, or does a different fabric suit you more?

    Love,

    Lisa

  2. Dress Envy

    March 15, 2012

Oh my goodness gracious. I think I could write an entire blog about how much I love Amsale wedding gowns. Number one favorite wedding dress designer, hands down! One of the first Amsale gowns I ever came across was Dahlia, and after seeing it on a beautiful Style Me Pretty bride yesterday, I was reminded of how much I love its gorgeous simple bodice and completely unique A-line skirt. Any gown that takes a classic silhouette and turns it into something exquisite is an A+ in my opinion. Let’s take a look :)

Ahhh, I just love it! Doesn’t it photograph so beautifully? I love how the bride let the dress shine by keeping her hair and accessories simple and elegant. Pictures by Robert & Kathleen Photographers via Style Me Pretty.

So Amsale is my clear favorite, but which wedding dress designer never fails to make your heart skip a beat?

    Love,

    Lisa

  3. Dress Envy

    February 16, 2012

Even though Valentine’s Day is over till next year, I’m not quite done surrounding myself in pink and red, and will probably continue to do so till March 1st! Stunningly romantic gowns like this Ralph Lauren number are only contributing to my love of all things rosy.

This gown is more modern and couture than what I usually gravitate towards, but I can’t get over the beautiful silhouette, the ruffly neckline, the romantic flowing skirt, and of course, that flawless blush color. Plus, how gorgeous is this bride? She rocked it.

Let’s keep the prettiness in pink going all month long, shall we?

    Love,

    Lisa

  4. Dress Envy

    January 26, 2012

I have to say, these dress envy posts are some of my favorites to write. There are so many gorgeous gowns out there, and I love taking a day out of the blog week to admire one that’s really standing out to me. I hope you all like these posts too, and if there’s every anything you want to see more or less of on Something Pretty, please shoot me an e-mail and let me know!

This week’s dress has so many of my favorite elements in it, yet it’s so different from anything I’ve ever seen before. I love the full but flowy skirt, the buttons and the dip in the back, and the asymmetrical neckline and back. It was made by Carol Hannah, of Project Runway fame, so it’s no wonder that it is equally classic and couture at the same time! This lovely bride accessorized the gown perfectly, with the sweetest birdcage veil and royal blue Louboutins.

Are you a classic bride, a couture bride, or a little bit of both?

    Love,

    Lisa

  5. The Cream Event

    January 24, 2012

This is going to be the most photo-heavy post I’ve ever written, and for good reason!  I’ve been looking forward to The Cream Event since August, and now that the event has come and gone, I can honestly say that I have never been more in awe of the amazing talent in the wedding industry, both here in Austin, and in all the places that vendors traveled from to participate. I am both humbled and incredibly thrilled to be a tiny part of an industry that I love so much! I will let the pictures do the talking for the most part, but I’m also sharing my top five moments at the end of this post.

Loot Vintage Rentals brought in all of the gorgeous furniture.

Goody bags all in a row!

The courtyard was full of lounge areas for people to sit and listen to the live bluegrass band, drink cocktails, and socialize.

The Lost Pines were so much fun to listen to while walking around and checking out the space.

Left, stunning arch by The Byrd Collective. Right, this photographer display was at the center of the hall–love The Nichols!

100 Layer Cake table! I was so thrilled that I got the opportunity to meet Amanda!

More pretty spots to sit–think I can rent that couch forever? :)

The Byrd Collective table was too beautiful for words.

The Nouveau Romantics did a ton of the florals for the event, and every arrangement was incredible!

The Creative Parasol girls were so sweet, and their products are amazing.

BHLDN fashion show time! Camille Styles MC’ed the unveiling of the new spring collection, in stores next week. I loved the dramatic backs…

The tea lengths… (and cute shoes!)

    The “something blues”…

    The adorable headpieces…

    The flowy skirts…

And the prettiest cover ups I have ever seen!

This gorgeous veil was the perfect grande finale.

Back at home! I remembered to take a picture of my outfit, including my sparkly wedges! Forgive the self-portrait. :P

The Byrd Collective had a “make your own bouquet” station, which was so much fun! What I created is now sitting on my desk.

All the business cards and information I collected!

    Goody bag loot!

My business cards, for those of you who wanted a picture :)

My top five moments of The Cream Event:
-Finally getting to meet Camille Styles! She’s my favorite Austin blogger, and she was so sweet.
    - Amanda from 100 Layer Cake asking for my card and saying she would check out Something Pretty! So flattering to hear from one of my biggest inspirations.
    - Admiring all of the gorgeousness from BHLDN, both at the fashion show and in their pop-up shop.
    - Getting to see the work of floral stylists like the Nouveau Romantics and the Byrd Collective in person, after months of following them online. Pictures truly do not do their work justice!
    - Tasting the cutest desserts from Bake Sale Austin and Tiny Pies. Yum!

It was truly an experience to remember, and I’m so thankful to all the incredible vendors that made it possible!

    Love,

    Lisa
