How has everyone’s first week of 2012 been? I’ve been feeling super motivated, inspired, and excited ever since the calender changed, and I can only hope that this attitude sticks around for awhile! I’m currently putting the finishing touches on a project that I’ll be unveiling on Monday, so be sure to check back then. :) In the meantime, here are some of the pretty things that have gotten my 2012 off to a gorgeous start.

It’s not too terribly often that I see a wedding or photo shoot that I consider completely perfect. Usually there’s a detail or two that’s not necessarily my favorite, or I’m not crazy about one thing or another. Not so with a recent shoot on Style Me Pretty, expertly styled by Simply Fabulous Events and Design, and photographed to perfection by Emily Steffen. I pinned the heck out of this shoot, not to mention saved a few pictures into my personal future wedding file! One of the prettiest parts of the shoot is the gorgeous model and her incredible dress–which, get this, consists of a frothy blue tulle skirt she sewed herself, topped with a sparkly shirt from Target! Target, y’all! I am 100% smitten. Check out how beautiful it is!

I mean, come on now… a Badgley Mischka ruffly skirt lifted slightly to reveal stunning turquoise Louboutins? That is exactly the kind of prettiness that has me thinking about it all day! Snippet and Ink posted this fabulously intimate New York City wedding (ceremony in Duane Park, dinner at their favorite restaurant, and a private concert for the couple and their fifty guests) a few months ago, and the bride could not have picked a more beautiful and fun dress.
