1. English Garden Tea Styled Shoot

    June 11, 2012

    It might be the magazine journalism major in me speaking, but I really love a gorgeous, editorial styled shoot. I think they’re a fantastic way for vendors to show off their talents to the best of their abilities without the constraints of someone else’s tastes, timeline, or budget. It’s truly all about the vendors creating magical images, and today’s English Garden Tea Styled Shoot is just that–magical. The flowers are absolutely gorgeous, the gowns are a dream, and don’t even get me started on the hats! Take a look. :)

  2. Love List

    April 27, 2012

    Is it just me, or has April flown by crazily fast? From Easter to my birthday weekend to meeting Clint Hill, it’s been quite the whirlwind, but also a pretty fantastic month! Next week is my last week of the semester, and even though I’ll be in classes for most of the summer, I’m excited to have May off. I’m definitely getting antsy for lots of time to relax with my family, and I’ve started thinking up a list of fun things I want to do this summer. Anyone have a list going yet? I’d love to hear your plans! In the meantime, here are some things making me smile.

    {This has got to be one of the best nautical invitation suites I’ve ever seen. That octopus is so fun! Not to mention, the styling in this shot is amazing. By Harwell Photography via Grey Likes Weddings}

    {More nautical inspiration! There were so many unique ideas in this shoot, but the rope covered table and hanging ship’s wheel were definitely two of my favorites. By Libelle Photography via The Wedding Chicks}

    Have a beautiful weekend!

  3. The White Bouquet

    April 19, 2012

    There are few things I love more than a colorful, dramatic bridal bouquet. I just love how they pop against a white bridal gown, and I always felt a little like white bouquets didn’t stand out enough. However, I was scrolling through my Flowers board on Pinterest yesterday, and was quite surprised by how many white bouquets I’ve been drawn to lately! What I love about these is that they each have an undeniably charming touch, from a white lace ribbon to some perfectly placed greenery.

    What about you–white bridal bouquets or colorful?

    Lisa

    P.S. I would love your vote in the Southern Weddings Pinterest contest! Just leave a comment on the post to vote–I’m #3 Peaches! Thank you so much :)

  4. Classic Elegant New York City Wedding

    April 2, 2012

    There’s something special about New York City weddings. I’m not sure if it’s the undeniable class, the unassuming elegance, the charming originality, or a combination of the three, but in the city where people go to make their dreams come true, a heck of a lot of wedding dreams come true too—and they do so beautifully. Trisha and Seth were married on the rooftop of Bryant Park Grill, and celebrated with an intimate reception inside. Though this wedding is classic from the bride’s stunning bouquet to the bridesmaids in long slate blue dresses, the cake centerpieces and a late night pizza truck made this wedding one to remember. Patricia Kantzos photographed all of the special moments and details beautifully.

    Isn’t it all so lovely? I love how joyful everyone looks–and with a beautiful bride and groom, a gorgeous night in New York City, and a darling cake on every table, what’s not to be delighted about? Thank you to Patricia for letting me share this lovely wedding!

    Love,

  5. Summer Wildflowers

    March 21, 2012

    Monday’s sweet wedding got me thinking about other places to find rustic wedding inspiration. It brought me back to one of my all-time favorite bridal portraits, of a bride lounging on a turquoise bench in front of a field of sunflowers (found here). Yellow is such a happy color, and since I hardly own anything yellow at all, I’ve been trying to incorporate it into my outfits and decor a little bit more this spring. It’s amazing what a pop of sunshine via some yellow tulips or a new Bauble Bar bangle does for my mood! This board is all about sunshine, wildflowers, and celebrating love in the prettiest of places.

    As if I wasn’t ready for summer already! Hope this board brings some sunshine to the middle of your week. :)

    Love,

    Lisa
