Elegant Glamorous Winter Wedding Inspiration

I tend to gravitate more toward rustic and cozy when it comes to Christmas and winter decorations, but this glamorous styled shoot had me at velvet linens! A similar look (blush blooms, gray linens, lots of crystal) would be gorgeous any time of year, but in this case, the understated Christmas accents, like the Silent Night signage and sparkly white trees, make this shoot perfect inspiration for a December wedding.

Favorite Winter Colors

It has been hovering around the low 80s here in Austin this week, but now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, I’m in full-on Christmas/winter mode regardless of the weather! Y’all, I am giddy with excitement over the winter weddings that I know are coming up in the next few months–they are my weakness and I can’t think of anything more romantic. To kick things off, here are a few colors I’m hoping to see lots of this winter. (P.S. You can find my fall favorites here!)

In weddings, fashion, decor, or really anything, what are your favorite colors for this winter?

Country Chic Texas Wedding

Gray and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations, especially when it’s done as effortlessly as it is in today’s Texas wedding. The wedding was held at the bride’s family ranch, and the bride and groom incorporated rustic yellow flowers, the most fabulous mismatched gray bridesmaid dresses, and understated Southern details to achieve their country chic look. My favorites? I’m loving the bride’s black tulle sash, the balloon release, and the monogrammed aisle runner. Take a look!

Printable Bridesmaid Cards

Thank you SO much to everyone who commented and tweeted to me yesterday about the new design! I’m thrilled that you all seem to like it as much as I do, and it makes me even more excited to share today’s little surprise! Along with designing and coding everything for the new design, Kelsey also was sweet enough to come up with this adorable, free printable card, exclusively for Something Pretty. We thought that a “Will You Be My Bridesmaid” card would be the perfect gift for all you gorgeous brides out there–after all, everyone wants to ask their bridesmaids to stand with them on the big day in a special way, but who really wants to add to their wedding expenses? The typography on the cards was completely hand-drawn by Kelsey, and once you print them and cut them out, they’ll fit into an A2 envelope (my favorites are the colored ones from Paper Source). Additionally, the card comes in three of my favorite colors: gray, peach, and mint!

Seaside Chic Seabrook Wedding

Anyone who has swooned over The Notebook probably remembers the site of Noah and Allie’s love story–Seabrook, South Carolina. Well, Seabrook is not only the venue of The Notebook, it’s the venue of some real life love stories too, like the wedding of Chicago residents, Meghan and Adam. Both the beach and Spanish moss provided a romantic backdrop for their ceremony and reception, and their elegant decor, including the most lovely, navy-centered anemones, created the perfect seaside chic wedding.
