1. Dress Envy

    February 7, 2013

    Ever since I included a dreamy Claire Pettibone in one of my roommates’ inspiration boards, I’ve been noticing that every time I see one of her romantic gowns, I fall head over heels for them. Oftentimes, it’s not just the gown that I fall for, it’s also the impeccable styling that Claire Pettibone gowns seem to inspire.

    Claire PettiboneThis dreamy look from a vintage shoot photographed by Sarah Gawler and featured on Ruffled is a perfect example. The delicate floral crown complements the intricacy of the gown beautifully, and the casually elegant braid is so pretty against the low cut back. I love it all!

  2. Dress Envy

    January 17, 2013

    For the romantic, unapologetically girly, undeniably stylish bride, there’s no designer quite like Monique Lhuillier…

    I feel like this is the dress little girls dream about. The lace is so exquisite, and of course, it twirls beautifully! Paired with a simple veil, a handful of white blooms, and a groom in a navy suit, I’m smitten with this classic look. By Edyta Szyszlo Photography via Style Me Pretty.

  3. Dress Envy

    August 30, 2012

    I have had this gown saved for awhile, and now that an amazing group of blogger brides have shared their dress stories (see them all here), it’s time to share it! Blogger Dress Envy isn’t going away because it is way too much fun–it’s just going to be an occasional surprise from now on. :) This dress is one of the most stunningly different gowns I’ve ever seen–uniqueness is one of the huge benefits of buying a white couture gown rather than limiting yourself to gowns that are strictly bridal. Look at how beautifully this one turned out!

    Isn’t the lace work so striking against the sunset? The dress is the Ulla-Maija Couture Bianca, and this lovely bridal shot was photographed by Paul Johnson Photography and featured on Style Me Pretty.

  4. Dress Envy: Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous

    July 19, 2012

    I’m thrilled to have one of my blog best friends here today–Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events! You may remember that I was lucky enough to work as her blogging assistant last year, and since then, we’ve remained good friends. Of course, I never tire of seeing the incredible weddings and shoots she styles, because each one is even more impressive than the last. Her 2010 wedding made waves in the blogosphere, and she is just as gorgeous as she as talented!

    My dress is Enzoani Diana with the gray sash.

    I knew my dress was the one when…This is kind of a shocker to admit but I’m not sure if my dress was truly ‘the one’ because truth be told I found about five other incredibly amazing gowns after the fact that were just as gorgeous as the Enzoani I went with (important note: stopping looking at gowns when you find yours!). But that’s the thing that’s tricky about gowns and loving beautiful things; you feel torn in a million different directions! Luckily, my dress was very much a representation of me and really did make me feel a certain way the minute I first saw it in a magazine and the minute I had the saleswoman zip the back up for the first time. My dress was such a perfect mix of two different worlds: the all over Spanish lace was romantic and timeless whereas the dramatic long train and gray embellished sash were modern and a little sassy. I did have the lace straps removed on the gown because they made my 5 foot 2 frame seem shorter than normal, and thanks to the ridiculous amount of tulle under the skirt I had an over bustle added to the back.

    My favorite thing about my dress was…the lace. I am such a sucker for gorgeous ivory lace.

    I accessorized my dress with…very little since my sash had so much going on. I found super chic black diamond stud drop earrings that matched perfectly with the gems on the sash. I wore a pair of gray pumps that were about $30.00, purchased years before the wedding (no red soles for this girl!). I did end up falling in love with an elbow length lace-trimmed veil that matched the lace on my gown perfectly and really made me feel like a princess. Then I painted my nails in a gray matte hue to finish it all off!

    Thanks for sharing, Rhi!!

    Love,

    Lisa

  5. Love List

    July 6, 2012

    The end is finally in sight! I have one final this Saturday, and then I’ll be down to two summer classes instead of three. Judging by how quickly June flew by, I have a feeling July will come and go in the blink of an eye as well. I’m really looking forward to some fun things I have coming up outside of school, including the opportunity to model a few wedding gowns this weekend at the Austin Brides Against Breast Cancer event! I’m so excited to support an amazing cause, and let’s face it, it’s going to be the best dress-up opportunity ever. :) Now onto some favorites from this week.

    {It’s official–a tastefully artistic dress shot is such a must! I’m in love with this shot of such an incredible dress, captured by one of my favorite photographers. By Jessica Lorren Organic Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    {Can you believe that Ross Clodfelter, the photographer of this amazing wedding, was also responsible for the graphic design elements? These save-the-date coasters are beyond adorable. By F5 Photography via 100 Layer Cake}

    {Reason number a zillion that the mismatched bridesmaid look is here to stay. So much pretty color for summer! By Lauren Fair Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    {I am absolutely loving lucite chairs at weddings, especially when they had a twist of modern to an otherwise rustic setting. And of course, flowy blush linens make everything that much better! By Steve Steinhardt Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    Anyone have fun plans this weekend? Do tell! :)
