Love List

I’ve been home from school for a week now and it has already been so rejuvenating. My mom put up our Christmas decorations this week, we’re getting our tree today, and my sister will be home from Pittsburgh tomorrow, so it feels more and more like the holidays every day. A few more things I’m planning to do before Christmas are going to the Houston Ballet performance of The Nutcracker with my mom, baking madeleines (anyone have a favorite recipe?), and watching A Christmas Story. Anyone else have fun plans to get into the holiday spirit?

Sorry for the delay today, but better late than never! A few things I’ve been loving lately:

{I was so excited to find myself in Camille’s recap of the Anthropologie HoliDIY event! I’m the one smiling way too enthusiastically  in the middle–monograms and Christmas have that effect on me :) By Chelsea Fullerton by Camille Styles}

Today is the day of the Christmas party I’ve been planning for weeks! I’ll have a full recap up next week and I can’t wait to share the first real event I’ve planned and styled by myself with you all!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Y’all, I am having a hard time not thinking about Christmas till after Thanksgiving this year. I am usually so adamant about it, but too many fun things are going on this year and I can’t possibly ignore them! First of all, I’m planning a little Christmas party the weekend after Thanksgiving. I’ve never really planned and styled a party exactly how I wanted it, so to say I’m excited is an understatement! The week after next, I’ll start sharing the inspiration board and some of the fun details I’ve been working on, and I hope you’ll enjoy them. I certainly have been :) Second of all, I went to a wonderful “HoliDIY” Christmas crafting event last night at Anthropologie, hosted by Camille Styles. I met Camille at The Cream in January and it is always so lovely to see her. My friend Jen and I also made it onto the Anthropologie instagram account! See if you can find us :)

{The most exciting news of the week in the wedding world is that Southern Weddings V5 is officially out, and every page is just breathtaking! My favorite shoot so far is the “My Kentucky Rose” shoot, a romantic take on the Kentucky Derby. Isn’t that cake one of the most beautiful cakes you’ve ever seen? By Jen Huang Photography via Southern Weddings}

{I was so excited to see my friend Emily of Bird Dog Wedding‘s work on her favorite blog this week! The woodland bridal shower she styled is rustic boho perfection, and I love the chalkboard calligraphy. By Paige Newton Photography via 100 Layer Cake}

{Joy Thigpen is one of my favorite stylists, and I absolutely loved her take on a wedding full of fall colors. That Virginia venue has my heart skipping a beat! By Eric Kelley Photography via Once Wed}

{Speaking of Virginia weddings, I loved seeing this apple orchard wedding this week. It’s so different from the Virginia apple orchard wedding I posted a few weeks ago, but the charming, rustic atmosphere is just as perfect. By Sarah Jane Winter via Snippet and Ink}

{My dream reception venue has a few very specific features: exposed brick walls, huge windows, and hardwood floors, to name a few. After seeing these pretty rustic tables lined with bud vases, I may have to add wood tables to that list. By Eli Turner Studios via Style Me Pretty}

What are you up to this weekend? I will be enjoying Southern Weddings V5, having a sleepover with my sorority sisters, and staying as far away from the Formula 1 race traffic as possible. :P Have a good one!

One of my favorite things about living in Austin is the opportunity to go to some really great events. There was the Design*Sponge book signing last fall, The Cream in January, and last night, I went to a book signing/meet and greet for one of my favorite bloggers, Joy Cho of Oh Joy. Not only was she even more adorable in person than she is on her blog, she was also so sweet and genuine. I loved talking to her to get some blogging advice, and I can’t wait to read her new book, Blog Inc. This event was just the push of inspiration I’ve been needing to start branching out a little into some more lifestyle content and I can’t wait to get to work on the ideas I have! But for now, some pretty pinks from the week. :)

{This shoot is such a great source of  elegant, dramatic wedding inspiration. The tables were gorgeous, but this fun portrait was my favorite picture! By Fondly Forever Photography via Ruffled}

{I would have loved to have been a bridesmaid at this wedding–I can think of lots of places I would want to rock this cute polka dot dress! By Amy Majors Photography via Grey Likes Weddings}

Have a happy weekend!

Today is one of those days that makes me so thankful for the role blogging has played in my life over the past (almost!) two years. I have never really shared why I started blogging because it’s such a complicated post to write and it shares a lot more of my heart than I’m used to sharing here. I am working on it though, and I plan to post  it before this blog’s two year birthday in December, so stay tuned :) When it comes down to it though, my favorite things about blogging are the opportunity and challenge to be creative, the reminder to live life in a way that makes little things special, and most of all, it has introduced me to some wonderful people. The sweet Michaela from Michaela Noelle Designs will be in Austin for a few hours today and we’re going out to one of my favorite lunch spots. This is the first blog friend I’ll get to meet in real life, and I’m so excited!

{This has been a week of sparkly weddings (see the wedding I posted on Monday here!), starting with this gorgeous New Orleans wedding, photographed by one of my favorite photographers. The sparkly details and dramatic New Orleans setting could not be more perfect for a breathtaking black tie affair. By Tec Petaja via Once Wed}

{Recognize that beautiful bride? It’s Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style and The Glitter Guide! Her much-anticipated wedding pictures finally hit the blogosphere this week, and it was even better than I could have imagined. Even better, my friend Jacin was the genius behind the amazing details! By Edyta Szyszlo Photography via 100 Layer Cake}

{How dreamy are these sparkly linens? My mind is in overdrive imagining how many pretty tablescapes they could be used in. By Katelyn James via Style Me Pretty}

{I couldn’t help but smile at this darling pumpkin patch wedding shoot! So much character and sweetness. By Mallory Morgan Photography via Style Me Pretty}

Have a happy weekend, y’all!
