1. Love List

    September 28, 2012

    I can’t believe this is my last September post already! Being so busy in school makes time fly by, and I have a sneaky suspicion that it’ll be graduation before I know it. I’m trying really hard to be present in everything I do right now, because I know that as frustrating as my classes get or noisy as living in a college neighborhood gets, I’m going to miss this part of my life after it’s over. My decision to stay in school for a fifth year and transfer to UT last year was a difficult one, but the biggest blessing that has come out of it is being able to know I’m in the right place at the right time. October is going to be such a great month to fully enjoy where I am–from football-packed weekends, to the legendary Texas-Oklahoma rivalry game in Dallas coming up, to the beginning of fall, to lots of fun things going on with my sorority. I intend to be present and enjoy the ride.

  2. Brown Mismatched Bridesmaids

    August 15, 2012

    Today’s post goes hand in hand with yesterday’s inspiration board–a vintage French country theme for a Virginia bride getting married in the fall. I love the idea of mismatched bridesmaid dresses to achieve an eclectic, vintage look, and since Modcloth is one of my favorite sources for unique dresses, that’s where I turned for this round up.

    Dresses left-right: Parkside Picnic, The Ornamentalist, Mocha Biscotti, Hazelnuts About You, Luck Wood Have It (all ModCloth) ; Comb: Etsy , Shoes: Shop Ruche

    To bring some unity to the look, I love nude heels (perfect for any color scheme), and maybe a matching hairpiece or piece of jewelry. I thought this charming gold comb would be the perfect finishing touch for fall bridesmaids!

    Fashionistas and wedding pros–any other tips on pulling off a mismatched look?

    Love,

    Lisa

  3. Love List

    July 6, 2012

    The end is finally in sight! I have one final this Saturday, and then I’ll be down to two summer classes instead of three. Judging by how quickly June flew by, I have a feeling July will come and go in the blink of an eye as well. I’m really looking forward to some fun things I have coming up outside of school, including the opportunity to model a few wedding gowns this weekend at the Austin Brides Against Breast Cancer event! I’m so excited to support an amazing cause, and let’s face it, it’s going to be the best dress-up opportunity ever. :) Now onto some favorites from this week.

    {It’s official–a tastefully artistic dress shot is such a must! I’m in love with this shot of such an incredible dress, captured by one of my favorite photographers. By Jessica Lorren Organic Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    {Can you believe that Ross Clodfelter, the photographer of this amazing wedding, was also responsible for the graphic design elements? These save-the-date coasters are beyond adorable. By F5 Photography via 100 Layer Cake}

    {Reason number a zillion that the mismatched bridesmaid look is here to stay. So much pretty color for summer! By Lauren Fair Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    {I am absolutely loving lucite chairs at weddings, especially when they had a twist of modern to an otherwise rustic setting. And of course, flowy blush linens make everything that much better! By Steve Steinhardt Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    Anyone have fun plans this weekend? Do tell! :)

    Love,

    Lisa
