1. Vintage Texas Hill Country Wedding

    November 19, 2012

    It’s hard not to love weddings that take place in the Texas Hill Country. Not only does this sweet part of Texas have the most perfect rustic charm and gorgeous scenery, it’s also just a few miles away from all of the fabulous vendors based here in Austin. Big city convenience with countryside beauty? Don’t mind if I do! This sweet wedding was photographed by one of my favorite Austin photographers, Caroline Joy Photography. When it comes to lovely, pretty weddings, Caroline captures them better than anyone!

    {Vendors: Photography: Caroline Joy Photography| Venue: The Ranch House at Teravista| Styling, florals, and vintage rentals: Sweet Sunday Events| Videography: Lizama Videography| Paper Products: Pen & Ink| Bride’s gown: Essence of Australia| Hair and makeup: Green Alley Salon| Nails: Peace Love Nails}

    Is there a particular city or area that you think makes for a perfect wedding every time? Thank you so much to Caroline for the delight of sharing these lovely pictures!

    Love, Lisa

  2. Love List

    June 29, 2012

    I’m down to my last week of my hardest summer classes, and as you can probably guess by how much I’ve been complaining (so sorry!), I am really excited for things to calm down a little. I’m also very excited about a few things coming up on Something Pretty, especially a new little twist on the Dress Envy column that I think you’re all going to love. But until then, here are my top three pretty picks for this week.

    {When some of the best in the business come together, you get something like this. Lisa Vorce, Mindy Rice, and Aaron Delesie truly outdid themselves in this California wedding with touches of Mexican and Moroccan flair. By Aaron Delesie Photography via Style Me Pretty}

    {I’ve raved about styled shoots based perfectly off of classic books–there’s just something about taking a book that so many people love or grow up reading, and then throwing those characters a wedding! This Anne of Green Gables wedding shoot made Anne and Gilbert’s love story come to life in the sweetest way. By Jessica Zais Photography via Green Wedding Shoes}

    {Kathryn of Snippet & Ink helped make this shoot happen, so I suppose it’s no surprise that it is the perfect blend of modern, romantic, and classic. By Lisa Lefkowitz via Snippet & Ink}

    My mom and sister are coming to Austin to visit this weekend, and I can’t wait to show them the sites (and eat way too much food!). What are you up to this weekend?

    Love,

    Lisa

  3. English Garden Tea Styled Shoot

    June 11, 2012

    It might be the magazine journalism major in me speaking, but I really love a gorgeous, editorial styled shoot. I think they’re a fantastic way for vendors to show off their talents to the best of their abilities without the constraints of someone else’s tastes, timeline, or budget. It’s truly all about the vendors creating magical images, and today’s English Garden Tea Styled Shoot is just that–magical. The flowers are absolutely gorgeous, the gowns are a dream, and don’t even get me started on the hats! Take a look. :)

    {Vendors: Photography: Beaux Arts Photographie| Event designers: Kelly Oshiro Design and Tricia Fountaine Design| Venue: Dos Pueblos Ranch| Flowers: Tricia Fountaine Design| Gowns: Monique Lhuillier and vintage| Hair and makeup: Chateau Belle| Hats: Louise Green Millinery| Jewelry: 33 Jewels| Vintage rentals: Found Vintage Rentals| Rentals: Town & Country Event Rentals| Linens: La Tavola Fine Linens}

    Thank you so much to Kirsten Ellis, of Beaux Arts Photographie, for the honor of sharing this truly beautiful shoot!

    Love,

    Lisa

  4. Vintage Barr Mansion Wedding

    June 4, 2012

    The Barr Mansion is one of Austin’s many wedding industry bragging rights. Not only is it a gorgeous seafoam green Victorian mansion, it’s also the only certified organic events facility in the country. I have been wanting to share a Barr Mansion wedding on Something Pretty for ages, so I’m so excited to be posting one today! This romantic vintage wedding was full of gorgeous details, all photographed beautifully by Caroline+Ben Photography.

    {Vendors: Photographer: Caroline + Ben Photography| Venue: Barr Mansion| Bridal gown: Maggie Sottero| Bride’s shoes: Zigi Soho| Makeup: Keep Austin Gorgeous| Groom’s attire: Hickey Freeman| Videographer: Hardeman Films| Florals: Melanie Tipton at Last Petal| Event planning: Rick Rabon at Barr Mansion| Bridemaid dresses: Watters| Table numbers: Mason Rabbit’s Paperie| Hanger: Wisconmom}

    When the bride is a vintage-loving, DIY-savvy hopeless romantic, the wedding is bound to be incredible, and I think this one goes to show just how true that is. I absolutely love the stacks of vintage china and that stunning old door backdrop behind the cake, and of course, the Barr Mansion is the perfect setting for it all. Thanks so much to Caroline for letting me share this lovely wedding!

    Love,

    Lisa

  5. Romantic Southern Vintage Wedding

    May 21, 2012

    This Wilmington wedding has it all–the sweetest moments, the prettiest Anthropologie-inspired centerpieces, a beautiful bridal party decked out in blush, a perfect little white chapel, and of course, a joyful bride and groom. Rachel and Jared of Jacobus Photography did such an amazing job capturing it all, and I’m thrilled to feature their work today!

    {Vendors: Photography: Jacobus Photography| Ceremony venue: Lebanon Chapel in Airlie Gardens| Reception venue: 128 South| Bridal gown: Romona Keveza| Bride’s shoes: Ivanka Trump| Suits: J. Crew| Bridesmaid dresses: Ann Taylor| Event design and planning: A Shindig Southern Event Planning| Florals: Fiore Fine Flowers| Wedding cake: Hot Pink Cake Stand| Ice cream sandwiches: Nye’s Cream Sandwiches| Tent: A Tent Event}

    Isn’t it gorgeous? Everything from the bride and groom’s amazing style to that darling flower girl walking down the aisle has me smiling this morning! Thanks so much to Rachel for letting me share this beautiful wedding!

    Love,

    Lisa
