1. Kate Spade-Inspired Holiday Styled Shoot

    December 2, 2011

    Raise your hand if you love Kate Spade. And how about Christmas? What about puppies in tutus? Yes to all three? Me too!

    My one-year blog birthday is coming up next week, so I’ve been looking through old posts and saved links to my early inspirations. I posted a picture from a shoot I saw on Style Me Pretty in my sixth ever blog post, back when I was just getting a feel for WordPress (hence, my layout is atrocious), trying to figure out what exactly I wanted to blog about, and most of all, getting more and more excited about the new project I was embarking on. I look back at this shoot from time to time, and it brings me right back to my early days of blogging from a hot pink desk chair in my tiny, freezing cold Pittsburgh apartment–excited, inspired, and amazed at all the creativity out there. This particular source of amazement is a Kate Spade-Inspired Holiday photo shoot, styled by the oh-so-appropriately named Styled Creative, and photographed by the wonderful Alison Conklin.

    Perfection, right? I love all the sparkly details and the splashes of my favorite color (turquoise). Add some Louboutins and a cute pup into the mix and I can’t imagine anything better!

    Wishing you a wonderful first weekend of December…make it special! :)

    Love,

    Lisa

  2. Vanilla Latte Inspiration Board

    November 18, 2011

    To finish off this week, I’d like to share one of my favorite inspiration boards that I’ve done for my blogging “assistantship” for Hey Gorgeous! It’s bolder and more theme oriented than I usually like, but I tried to make sure there was still plenty of me in it. That got me thinking–what exactly does my style entail? Defining, or at least narrowing down, the style I aim for on my blog has definitely helped keep me focused, and it actually makes my blogging go much faster since I know what I’m looking for. In this board, I think I stayed true to myself with lots of sweet details, a little bit of Southern charm…and of course, brightly colored shoes. :)

    {Starbucks and Wi-Fy sign (get it? :)): Green Wedding Shoes| Milk glasses: Green Wedding Shoes| Homemade vanilla favor: Ruffled| Coffee and doughnut: Style Me Pretty| Marriage mugs: Polka Dot Bride| Cake pop ring shot: Green Wedding Shoes| Green shoes: Style Me Pretty| Latte colored bridesmaid dress: ASOS}

    This is my interpretation of a wedding inspired by Starbucks–I think that would be so cute for a relationship that started with a coffee date. Deep green, vanilla, latte, and caramel are also the perfect cozy color scheme, and yet another fun way to spin a fall wedding.

    Alright, just for fun–what’s your go-to Starbucks drink? Mine is a tall skinny caramel macchiato, unless it’s the holidays, in which case I always order tall peppermint mochas. Sometimes skinny but not always. :P

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Love,

    Lisa

  3. Thursday Love List

    September 22, 2011

    Happy Thursday! I am having a very happy Thursday already, because my handsome boyfriend is here for his first visit to Austin, and I could not be more excited to show him around my wonderful new home…and hopefully his home soon too. :)

    I love how the things on this love list are soft and romantic, but colorful and fun at the same time. That is definitely something I look for in design, in things I blog about, and in ideas for my wedding someday as well!

     {This is what it’s all about, y’all!  This Green Wedding Shoes wedding is not only stunning and beautiful (they had daisies strewn down the aisle, be still my heart), it also looks so fun and loving and joyful. I am smitten!}

    {After seeing pictures of the Lover.ly event on Snippet and Ink, how could I not be excited for this wedding inspiration site? I’m eagerly awaiting my beta code so I can try it out!}

    {I love a nautical themed wedding, especially when it’s done in a completely new way! This Style Me Pretty couple absolutely hit it out of the park, and I can’t stop admiring their gorgeous pictures. The fresh navy and peach color combination, the preppy stripes, the beautiful ceremony location, the adorable cake, and some fabulous ombre clothespins (seriously, those things are incredible) have me head over heels all over again for twists on nautical!}

    {How striking is this  show-stopper on Southern Weddings? I’ve never seen anything like it, and I absolutely love it. Perfect to add some high-impact decor to weddings in a wide, open space}

    {Ever since my brief floral design lesson at my event planning organization, and posting about unique bouquets on Hey Gorgeous last week, flowers have been on my mind big time! I love the colors and textures of this Wedding Chicks bouquet, and the fact that they have a whole section of “Bouquet Recipes” on their website. Does it get any easier than that?}

    What’s making your day today?

    Love,

    Lisa

    P.S. I’m also on Hey Gorgeous today, talking about the “design trifecta”…check it out! :)

  4. Thursday Love List

    September 15, 2011

    Happy Thursday!

    It has been a busy week. Classes are officially in crazy full swing, so many activities are going on, and the weather is still in the 100s to top it off. And did I mention my desk arrived in the mail (good thing!), but the elevator has been broken in my apartment for days and I live on the top floor? It takes a long time to get a huge heavy box up 88 stairs, let me tell you that! With so much going on, I’m feeling a little bit all over the place, so I guess it makes sense that this week’s love list is a mix of soft romance and whimsical brights. It’s just one of those weeks! :)

    {A darling lemonade stand on Green Wedding Shoes}

    {I professed my love for madeleines in last week’s love list, and this cake looks even better. I love how they were used in a nautical themed wedding–they do look like seashells, don’t you think? From 100 Layer Cake}

    {I LOVE seeing blogger’s weddings!! The beautiful Mara from M Loves M is finally sharing the gorgeousness of her May wedding this week, and it looks so intimate, romantic, and fun!}

    {I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I think it’s the perfect balance of rustic chic and completely glamorous. Major kudos to whoever had this idea! From Style Me Pretty}

    {How romantic and natural is the butterfly in the bride’s hair? I love this beautiful wedding on Southern Weddings}

    I’m also talking about unique florals on Hey Gorgeous today, so stop by and leave some love if you feel so inclined!

    Love,

    Lisa

  5. Thursday Love List

    September 8, 2011

    Happy Thursday! How is everyone’s week going?

    I had so much fun pulling together images for this week’s Love List…there are some adorable, fun, and downright unique things out there lately that I completely adore. It’s been making me think a lot about how “worth it” blogging is to me… I don’t have an insane number of followers, or hundreds of daily views. But I love finding things that make weddings anything but cookie cutter, and it makes my whole week to hear from people I haven’t talked to in years who tell me out-of-the-blue that they read my blog every day. Makes my week. All I want to do here is show people, some that I know and love in real life, and others that touch my heart by commenting when I don’t even know them, that there is so much out there to make your wedding perfectly you. So THANK YOU for reading and commenting and sharing my blog with your friends or anything else!! And without further ado, here’s what I’m loving this week :)

    {The most stunning and stylish bridal shoot by Simply Bloom Photography}

    {A cake adorned with memories and inside jokes on Style Me Pretty (check out the cute bridesmaids in cowboy boots and the sweet ring bearer from this wedding too!)}

    {Are you kidding me?! This wedding shoot inspired by Willy Wonka on Green Wedding Shoes is beyond incredible! And yes, that bouquet is edible. In the form of chocolate.}

    {My family and I love madeleines, so I think this little display from Martha Stewart Weddings would be right up our alley!}

    {I would be one overjoyed wedding guest if I got to eat off of these antique plates and take home my own little succulent plant! From a beautiful shoot on Elizabeth Anne Designs}

    I’m also posting an “Autumn Blush” inspiration board over on Hey Gorgeous today…stop by and check it out! :)

    Have a blessed day!

    Love,

    Lisa
