Sparkly Sweet Winter Wedding Inspiration

When I first saw this dreamy styled shoot, I kind of freaked out. How often do so many of my favorite things appear in one wedding or shoot? From the exposed brick walls (my weakness) to the silver sparkly linens to the flawlessly styled couple, I am completely smitten with every detail. Balancing rustic and sparkle is one of the many reasons I love winter weddings, and I can definitely see winter brides finding tons of inspiration from this shoot. Enjoy!

Rustic Maryland Lodge Wedding

This may be the coziest looking wedding I’ve ever posted. The bride and groom were surprised with unexpected snow on their autumn wedding day, but it ended up making the whole day even more beautiful and memorable. I absolutely love all of the rustic DIY elements, that seriously gorgeous bouquet, and the twinkle lights that set the mood perfectly. Enjoy!

Rustic Snowy Winter Wedding

I’ve said it a million times–I love winter weddings. And today’s post is the perfect example of why. The bride and groom said their vows outside, with the snow falling softly around them and their guests. Afterwards, a lodge covered in rustic, earthy decorations, like succulents and burlap, was the perfect venue to celebrate the new marriage of this down-to-earth couple. From the bride’s signature braid to the wedding cake made lovingly by the groom’s mother, Kezia and Ashton did things their own way, and the result is completely romantic perfection.

I can’t stop admiring the pictures of the two of them–don’t they look just so in love? That’s what it’s all about after all :) Thank you so much to Benj Haisch for the honor of sharing this stunning wedding!

Elegant Utah Winter Wedding

I have a weakness for winter wedding, especially weddings like this one that are overflowing with elegance and sweet details. The beautiful bride and groom kept most things classic–the dapper groom in a navy suit, the bride’s anemone and rose bouquet (one of my all-time favorites!), and a traditional church ceremony. However, they also infused personality into the special day by focusing completely on celebrating their marriage with family and friends. After all, the day before the wedding was spent skiing in ’80s clothes! They brought that same joyful, celebratory attitude to their wedding day by including their adorable dog in their pictures and creating an intimate dinner party atmosphere at their reception, followed by what I can only imagine was a serious dance party thanks to The Flashdance!

Crew| Groom’s suit: Custom| DJ: The Flashdance| Invitations: Bella Figura| Florals: Decoration Inc| Calligraphy: Melinda Mraz}

I always get extra excited when some of my favorite vendors are used in weddings I feature–in this case, I am a big fan of Bella Figura, The Flashdance, and Lovely Bridal Shop, and can’t recommend them highly enough to brides. Thank you so much to Leo Patrone for the honor of sharing this truly beautiful wedding!

Nutcracker Sweet

My Christmas gift to my mom this year was a pair of tickets to The Nutcracker Ballet, so last night, we headed to downtown Houston for the performance. Going to ballets with my mom is so special to me–ballet was my life for years, and she was always my number one supporter, so we get equally excited for our favorite numbers! For today’s inspiration board, I drew inspiration from The Nutcracker with festive evergreen, Land of Sweets-inspired shades of pink, and plenty of theater-reminiscent elegance.

{Bouquet: Mikki Platt Photography via Blossom Sweet| Bride on staircase: Amy Punky Photography via French Wedding Style| Ranunculus: Machteld M| Sugar Plum Fairy costume: Classy Girls Wear Pearls| Dessert table: Jen Rodriguez Photography via Style Me Pretty| Macarons: Liza Voll Photography via Hostess with the Mostess| Ballet slippers: Julie Williams Photography via Something Pretty| Festive table: Rue Magazine}

If you’re a Nutcracker fan, tell me, what are your favorite dances? I have a soft spot for snowflakes, because I danced it back in the day, but the Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince pas de deux brings me to tears with how beautiful it is!
